Waiting for your Civil Service Exam result is stressful, and the internet does not help: copies of the list of passers appear on dozens of unofficial sites within minutes. This guide explains how CSC actually releases results, how to find your name, how to get your exact rating through OCSERGS, and what to do next — whether you passed or not.

Key takeaways

  • CSC posts the List of Passers by region on csc.gov.ph. CSC says only that list is official.
  • Passed or failed, you get your individual rating through OCSERGS on the CSC website. No report of rating is mailed.
  • Have your Examinee Number ready — OCSERGS asks for it, plus your personal details and exam date, type, and place.
  • You pass with a general rating of at least 80.00. Ratings are final and irreversible: CSC does not re-check results and does not round ratings.
  • Passers can claim a free Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) on CSC letterhead from the office where they took the exam, by the deadline in the results advisory.
  • For the 14 March 2027 sitting, the target for the list of passers is on or before 11 May 2027, and it can move with the number of examinees.

Results release dates

CSC sets a target release date in the exam announcement, then confirms the actual date in a results advisory. In both 2026 sittings, results came out earlier than the original target.

Why the date moves

Advisory No. 04 explains CSC's rule: processing takes 59 days after the exam for up to 300,000 examinees, plus one additional day for every 5,000 examinees above 300,000. A smaller turnout means an earlier release; a bigger one means a later release. That is why you should watch for the results advisory instead of relying on the date in the announcement.

Step 1 — Go only to the official CSC website

Both 2026 advisories say the same thing: "Only the List of Passers posted on the CSC website is official." CSC also cautions the public against postings on other websites and social media pages that are not affiliated with the CSC or that use its name without authority.

Unofficial copies may be incomplete, out of date, or bait for scams. Use csc.gov.ph to check your result, and treat any other copy as unconfirmed.

Step 2 — Find your name on the List of Passers

The List of Passers is posted by region, for both Professional and Subprofessional. CSC also posts the top passers on the national level, ranked using standard competition ranking (Advisory No. 04, s. 2026).

  1. Open csc.gov.ph and go to the exam results for your sitting.
  2. Choose the region where you took the exam — not where you live now, if they differ.
  3. Choose your level (Professional or Subprofessional).
  4. Search for your surname. Check your full name and middle name, since common surnames repeat.

Not on the list? That usually means you did not reach 80.00, but confirm it through OCSERGS before you decide anything.

Step 3 — Get your exact rating through OCSERGS

The Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System (OCSERGS) is how every examinee — both passed and failed — gets their individual result. Advisory No. 04 says no report of rating will be mailed to examinees.

To use it, per Advisory No. 04, s. 2026:

  1. Open OCSERGS from the main CSC website: www.csc.gov.ph → Quick Links → OCSERGS. CSC says this path makes sure you reach the enhanced, official system.
  2. Have your Examinee Number ready. It is required.
  3. Fill in your personal information exactly as it appears in your application.
  4. Fill in the details of the examination: date, type (level), and place of examination, in the format shown on the screen.
  5. Generate your result and save or print a copy for your records.

Step 4 — Read your rating correctly

  • 80.00 or higher means you passed. CSC's passing standard is a general rating of at least 80.00 (Announcement No. 06, s. 2026, Section G).
  • There is no rounding. Advisory No. 04 says CSC does not apply any mathematical rounding to ratings. A rating just below 80.00 is not a pass.
  • There is no re-checking. Results, including the exact values of the ratings, are final and irreversible. CSC does not re-check test results in any type of civil service examination.
  • Your rating is not a percentage of items. CSC does not publish how raw scores convert to the general rating. See what the 80.00 passing score means.

Step 5 — Claim your Certificate of Eligibility

If you passed, you can get a Certification of Eligibility (CoE). CSC offers two versions. For fees, replacements, and online verification, see the full Certificate of Eligibility guide.

What to bring for the letterhead CoE

Claim it personally and bring:

  1. Your original I.D., preferably the same one you presented when you filed your application. If you lost it, bring another valid, unexpired I.D. from CSC's accepted list for civil service exams.
  2. Your application receipt and/or CSC Official Receipt, if you still have it.

The office may ask for additional documents to confirm your identity. CSC strongly advises checking first whether your CoE is already available for claiming before you travel.

If you live far from the office

You can claim your letterhead CoE at a conduit CSC office nearer to where you live or work. Send a written request to the CSC Regional Office concerned asking it to forward your CoE to the office where you want to claim it. Advisory No. 04 also covers passers who moved to another region: the request goes to the Regional Office with jurisdiction over your testing center and should state your reason.

Step 6 — Use your eligibility for government jobs

When you apply for a government position, you will be asked for proof of eligibility. Both advisories cite the 2025 Omnibus Rules on Appointments and Other Human Resource Actions (CSC Resolution No. 2500358, 30 April 2025), which accept any of these for appointment:

  • Original copy
  • Authenticated copy or certified true copy
  • Photocopy or scanned copy
  • A site or screen capture of your eligibility from the Civil Service Eligibility Verification System

So you can start applying with a copy or a screen capture while you wait to claim your printed CoE. Which positions accept your level is explained in Professional vs Subprofessional.

If you did not pass

Failing one sitting is common, and your OCSERGS rating is useful data for the next one.

  1. Get your rating from OCSERGS before the window closes, and note how far you were from 80.00.
  2. Check when you can retake. Recent announcements bar applicants who took the same level within three months before the exam. For 14 March 2027, that window is 14 December 2026 to 13 March 2027 (Announcement No. 06, s. 2026).
  3. Pick your next sitting. CSC's CY 2027 calendar lists 14 March 2027 and 08 August 2027 (Announcement No. 05, s. 2026). Confirm the filing period in the announcement for that date.
  4. Rebuild with a plan, not more of the same. Find the subjects that leaked points and fix them before sitting full mocks again. Our second-take review guide walks through it.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Trusting a reposted list. Only the CSC website list is official. Copies can be incomplete or fake.
  • Paying someone to "check" or "fix" your result. Results are final and irreversible, and OCSERGS is on the CSC website.
  • Missing the OCSERGS window. The rating is not mailed. Generate and save it as soon as results are out.
  • Losing your Examinee Number or receipt. You need the number for OCSERGS, and the receipt helps when you claim your CoE.
  • Assuming 79.9 rounds up. CSC does not round ratings.
  • Missing the CoE deadline. Each results advisory sets a date to secure the CoE; for the August 2026 sitting it is 12 November 2026.
  • Searching the wrong region. The list is by region of the testing center, not your home address.

Frequently asked questions

When will the results of the 14 March 2027 Civil Service Exam come out?

CSC Examination Announcement No. 05, s. 2026 targets the list of passers on or before 11 May 2027. The actual date depends on the number of examinees and will be confirmed in a CSC results advisory.

Where can I check my Civil Service Exam result?

On the official CSC website, csc.gov.ph. The List of Passers is posted by region, and individual ratings are available through OCSERGS from the CSC website's Quick Links. CSC says only the list on its website is official.

What is OCSERGS?

OCSERGS is the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System. Both passed and failed examinees use it to generate their individual test result. You need your Examinee Number, personal information, and the date, type, and place of your exam.

Will CSC mail my report of rating?

No. CSC Examination Advisory No. 04, s. 2026 states that no report of rating will be mailed to individual examinees. Generate your rating through OCSERGS instead.

Can I ask CSC to re-check my exam result?

No. CSC states that test results, including the exact values of ratings, are final and irreversible. It does not re-check results in any type of civil service examination and does not round ratings.

Is the Certificate of Eligibility free?

The CoE printed on CSC letterhead is free from the CSC Regional or Field Office where you took the exam. A CoE on security paper is also available for a fee from any of the 16 CSC Regional Offices.

What do I bring to claim my Certificate of Eligibility?

Your original I.D. (preferably the one used when you applied, or another valid accepted I.D.) and your application receipt or CSC Official Receipt if available. The office may ask for more documents to confirm your identity.

Can I use a screenshot of my eligibility for a government job application?

Yes. Under the 2025 Omnibus Rules on Appointments cited in CSC's advisories, proof of eligibility may be an original, authenticated or certified true copy, photocopy, scanned copy, or a screen capture from the Civil Service Eligibility Verification System.

I failed. When can I take the exam again?

You can apply for a later sitting as long as you did not take the same level within the three-month window stated in that sitting's announcement. CSC's CY 2027 calendar lists 14 March 2027 and 08 August 2027.
