To secure a slot for the 14 March 2027 Civil Service Exam, get your documents ready, register on your region's official CSC system, and book a testing center and appointment before it fills. Then show up on your appointment date. CSC says personal appearance is only for those who secured their slots online, so don't go to the office first.

Key takeaways

  • There is no fixed deadline. Filing opened on 2 November 2026 and runs until slots fill or CSC announces otherwise.
  • Book online first. Personal appearance began on 3 November, only for those who secured a slot online.
  • Slots belong to a testing center. CSC announced 352,391 slots across 98 centers, and one center can fill while another stays open.
  • Your appointment matters. In past cycles, CSC offices canceled the slot or made applicants rebook after a missed appointment.
  • Slots are free. CSC Region XII states that slots are "FREE and not for sale." The only exam fee in the announcement is ₱500.

What "securing a slot" means

A slot is your place at one testing center. Going by CSC's notices, you have not finished until each stage is done:

StageWhat it meansAre you done?
Account createdYou can log in to eServe or OCSEASNo slot yet
Appointment bookedYou chose a center and a date to appearSlot secured online, but not filed
Personal appearanceYou submit your form and documents and payYour application is being processed
Receipt in handYou have proof of filingKeep it, because a transfer request needs a copy

Region XII's 2025 process used the status "ON APPOINTMENT" to show that an application was submitted and scheduled. Screens can differ by region and cycle, so look for your own confirmation.

Step 1: Choose your center and system

Pick a center you can surely reach on 14 March 2027. CSC allows transfers only in extraordinary situations, with approval, and the request must be in by 9 December 2026.

Filing modeCSC Regional Offices
CSC eServeII, III, V, VI, VIII, IX, XI, NCR, BARMM
CSC OCSEASI, IV, VII, X, XII, CAR
Lingkod Bayani KioskCaraga (contact CSC Caraga)

The system follows the region of your testing center. Some regions also have their own OCSEAS address, such as ocseas.csc.gov.ph/rox for Region X, so follow your Regional Office's link.

Step 2: Prepare before you log in

Our advice: have everything ready first, so you can book as soon as you see an open schedule.

  • CS Form No. 100, Revised 2023, printed on legal-size paper if your office uses the paper form. In Bicol, CSC asks for the form generated by eServe.
  • Four identical passport-size photos with a handheld, handwritten name tag. They must be taken within three months before filing, so don't take them too early.
  • An accepted ID, original and photocopy. If it has no date of birth, add your birth certificate.
  • ₱500 for the exam fee.
  • An email address you use daily, and a password you will remember.

See the full requirements before you book.

Step 3: Book your appointment

The exact screens depend on your system. Here is how CSC offices described it:

  1. Create one account. Region XII's 2025 process says to create only one, using an active email address, then activate it from the confirmation email.
  2. Check your profile carefully. In that same process, the profile could be updated only once, so enter your details exactly as they appear on your ID.
  3. Choose your level and center. The OCSEAS dashboard showed available slots per testing center.
  4. Choose your date and office. Pick one you can surely attend.
  5. Submit, then confirm your status before you log out.

Step 4: Show up on your appointment date

Bring your form, photos, ID, and fee at your booked time. Bicol's March 2027 advisory requires applicants to submit documents "at the designated venue on their selected schedule."

Then keep your receipt and any confirmation until results come out.

9 tips that protect your slot

Tips based on CSC notices

  1. Check with your CSC office first. CSC tells applicants to confirm slot availability before filing. Find each region's phone and email in the list below.
  2. Book only once. CSC NCR told applicants in the 8 March 2026 cycle to "book once and follow their confirmed appointment schedules."
  3. Treat your appointment as fixed. NCR said a no-show forfeits the slot and means booking again, if slots remain. Region XII said failure to appear cancels the slot.
  4. Go to the right office. In the 8 March 2026 cycle, the NCR Regional Office did not accept applications, only its field offices did. Check your booking before you travel.
  5. Arrive early. NCR set a 4:00 p.m. daily cut-off at field offices in that cycle. Hours differ by office and cycle.
  6. Book even if you get priority. In NCR's 8 March 2026 process, pregnant women, persons with disability, and senior citizens still had to book, then received priority in queues.

Our advice

  1. Book early in the filing period. Each center closes when it fills, so waiting adds risk and gains you nothing.
  2. Choose a center you can reach, not just one with space. A distant center can cost you the exam if travel falls through, and a transfer is not guaranteed.
  3. Take screenshots of your confirmation. Save your email and password too, so you can return to your account.

What to do if your testing center is full

  1. Ask your CSC office. Ask whether slots remain or if more are expected. Regions can differ, and only your office can confirm this.
  2. Watch your Regional Office's official pages. Extra slots can appear. Region IX posted additional filing slots for three centers during the 2 March 2025 cycle, though that may not happen this time.
  3. Check other centers you can really reach. Use the list above, then confirm with that center's office.
  4. Plan for the next exam if needed. Filing for the 8 August 2027 exam opens on 10 May 2027, with its own announcement due about three weeks earlier.

Frequently asked questions

How do I secure a slot for the Civil Service Exam?

Register on your region's official CSC system, choose a testing center and appointment while slots remain, then appear on your schedule with your documents and fee. For 14 March 2027, CSC says personal appearance is only for those who secured slots online.

Is there a deadline to secure a slot for March 2027?

CSC set no fixed closing date. Filing runs from 2 November 2026 until slots fill or CSC announces otherwise, so a center can close at any time.

How do I know if slots are still available?

Ask the CSC Regional or Field Office of the testing center you want, as CSC advises. Region XII's 2025 OCSEAS dashboard also showed available slots per testing center.

Can I walk in without an online appointment?

CSC's 29 October 2026 notice says personal appearance is only for those who secured their slots online. Caraga uses the Lingkod Bayani Kiosk, so contact CSC Caraga for how it works there.

What happens if I miss my filing appointment?

In past cycles, CSC NCR said a no-show forfeits the slot and means booking again if slots remain, and Region XII said it cancels the slot. Ask your office right away what applies for March 2027.

Do I have to pay for a slot?

Region XII states that slots are free and not for sale. The exam fee for 14 March 2027 is ₱500, paid as your filing office instructs. Do not pay anyone who offers to sell you a slot.

What if my preferred testing center is full?

Ask your CSC office if slots remain, watch its official pages for additional slots, and check other centers you can really reach. If none works, plan for the 8 August 2027 exam, with filing from 10 May 2027.

Can I change my testing center after securing a slot?

Only in extraordinary situations and meritorious cases, with approval. For 14 March 2027, the written request must be submitted not later than 9 December 2026. See transfers and missed exams.
