Applying for the Career Service Examination, Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) is a Civil Service Commission process. CSEPass is an independent reviewer. We do not file applications, assign rooms, or collect the exam fee.

CSC Examination Announcement No. 06, s. 2026 (signed 21 October 2026) is now the sitting-specific PDF for 14 March 2027. It confirms the fee, documents, testing centers, and slot counts. Announcement No. 07, s. 2026 (29 October 2026) revises it with the filing mode for each Regional Office.

Sourced notes: CSE exam schedule, who may file, online application steps, transfers and missed exams, exam day / I.D. list. Confirm every logistics line on csc.gov.ph. Read the PDF: Announcement No. 06, s. 2026.

The published 2027 calendar (dates)

From CSC Examination Announcement No. 05, s. 2026 (CY 2027 PPT calendar), with the 14 March 2027 window restated in Announcement No. 06, s. 2026:

First CSE-PPT 2027

14 March 2027

Apply opens
02 November 2026
Apply closes
Until slots fill, or until CSC announces otherwise
Target List of Passers
On or before 11 May 2027 (may move with volume)

Second CSE-PPT 2027

08 August 2027

Apply opens
10 May 2027
Apply closes
Until slots fill, or until CSC announces otherwise
Target List of Passers
On or before 05 October 2027 (may move with volume)

If you intend to sit 14 March 2027, file when the window opens. Regions can fill before you “feel ready.” Study in parallel — filing is not a study plan.

The 09 August 2026 sitting is already done (application was 14 May 2026 – 10 June 2026). A scoped 22 November 2026 reset applies only to the areas named in Examination Advisory No. 16, s. 2026 — not a nationwide makeup. See the exam schedule guide.

The 08 August 2027 sitting still waits for its own examination announcement (expected about three weeks before 10 May 2027). Do not reuse the March 2027 center list for August.

The published fee (price)

Announcement No. 06, s. 2026 sets the examination fee for the 14 March 2027 CSE-PPT at Five Hundred Pesos (₱500.00). Pay only as the office named for your filing mode instructs. Keep the official receipt.

We will not invent a service charge or an online convenience fee. Screenshots of a personal GCash to a stranger are not a CSC payment method.

The 08 August 2027 fee is not in Announcement No. 06. Use ₱500 only as a budget placeholder for that sitting until its PDF is posted.

Application process nationwide

CSC regional offices do not all file the same way. Announcement No. 07, s. 2026 names CSC eServe, CSC OCSEAS, and the Lingkod Bayani Kiosk for 14 March 2027. CSC also tells applicants to ask the CSC RO/FO of the testing center they want about slots before filing. A directory of Regional and Field Offices is on csc.gov.ph.

Transfer of testing center, if CSC later allows it, is written and meritorious only. For this sitting the request must reach the RO/FO where you filed not later than 09 December 2026. After that date, Announcement No. 06 says no transfer will be accepted.

Step 1 — Confirm you should file this sitting

Read the qualification list in Announcement No. 06. You must, among other items:

  1. Be a Filipino citizen.
  2. Be at least 18 years old on the date of filing. If you file and then fail the age rule before exam day, CSC says the fee is forfeited.
  3. Be of good moral character; not convicted by final judgment of the offenses CSC names; not dishonorably discharged or dismissed for cause as stated there.
  4. Not have taken the same level (PPT or other modes, including CS Digital Exam) in the 3-month prohibition window: 14 December 2026 – 13 March 2027.
  5. Not have already passed the same level you are applying for.

If you already hold Professional eligibility, you do not re-take Professional to “refresh” it. If you are choosing a level, read Professional vs Subprofessional and the agency’s qualification standards — not a group-chat slogan.

Education: the admission list does not include a college-degree line. Do not turn that into marketing.

Step 2 — Choose Professional or Subprofessional before you print

You file for one level. Mixing them later is not a CSC workflow we will invent.

  • Professional — Verbal, Numerical, Analytical, General Information (scope in Announcement No. 06). Test proper in recent sittings: 3 hours 10 minutes.
  • Subprofessional — Verbal, Numerical, Clerical, General Information. Test proper in recent sittings: 2 hours 40 minutes.

Pick the eligibility your target role actually needs. Then sit a free diagnostic for that level so application week is not your first contact with a mixed paper.

Step 3 — Prepare the document kit from Announcement No. 06

  1. CS Form No. 100, Revised 2023 — Career Service Professional or Subprofessional. Available at Regional/Field Offices or downloadable from csc.gov.ph, printed on legal-size bond paper. See how to fill out CS Form No. 100.
  2. Four identical Philippine Passport-size photos (4.5 cm × 3.5 cm) meeting that announcement’s specs (white background, hand-held handwritten name tag, and the other photo rules in the PDF).
  3. Original plus photocopy of an accepted civil-service-exam I.D. Cards not on CSC’s list are not accepted. See the exam day / I.D. guide and the PDF. Prefer the same original I.D. you will bring on exam day.
  4. Expired I.D. as last resort: Announcement No. 06 allows an expired card only if the expiry date is within calendar year 2026. Do not invent a wider window.
  5. If the I.D. has no date of birth: original plus photocopy of a PSA or local civil registry birth certificate (PSA E-Certificate accepted under the rules named in that PDF).
  6. Other papers the PDF names for your case (for example dual-citizen Identification Certificate under R.A. 9225). Do not guess extras from a blog.

Step 4 — File as soon as your region opens, not “when review feels done”

For 14 March 2027, CSC did not print a fixed closing date. Applications run on a continuous basis until slots fill (or until CSC announces otherwise). First-come, first-served is the practical reading.

  1. Find your region's filing mode in the cards above, then ask the CSC RO/FO of your chosen testing center about remaining slots.
  2. Appear or submit with the complete kit. Incomplete files waste the slot you thought you had.
  3. Coordinate with the office of the testing center you want. Filing in the wrong region is a CSC question, not a CSEPass setting.
  4. After acceptance, keep copies of the form, receipt, and any reference number the office gives you.

“Done filing” means you are in that cycle’s examinee pipeline. It does not mean you are academically ready.

Step 5 — After you file: school assignment, then study

CSC uses the Online Notice of School Assignment (ONSA) and/or Regional Office notices. The ONSA open date is cycle-specific — we will not invent it. If you cannot see your school a week before the test, CSC’s recent advisories said to ask the Regional/Field Office directly.

While you wait:

  1. Sit the free diagnostic if you have not.
  2. Drill the topics that slipped — Verbal, Numerical, GI, plus Analytical or Clerical.
  3. Sit a timed mock so 14 March 2027 (or 08 August 2027) is not your first three-hour paper. Mock percent is not a CSC general rating. CSC’s passing general rating is 80.00 — a CSC formula, not our score. Read passing score vs mock percent.

Step 6 — Exam-day logistics (confirm the advisory for your date)

Recent sittings restated no I.D., no examination, no calculator of any kind, and black ball pen rules. Gate times in the last fully extracted packing advisory (08 March 2026) were be at the venue not later than 6:30 a.m. and gates closed at 7:45 a.m. Those times can change. Use the school-assignment advisory named for 14 March 2027.

Pack from that advisory. Do not add folklore I.D. types. Details: exam day guide and the night before.

Step 7 — Results, then eligibility

Target List of Passers for this sitting is on or before 11 May 2027 (may move with volume). Only the List of Passers on csc.gov.ph is official. Individual ratings through OCSERGS follow the posting, on the timeline CSC names.

Passing creates eligibility, not a job. Agencies still apply qualification standards.

If you do not pass, the three-month same-level window and the next calendar sitting are CSC rules. Build a real review from misses — see second take — instead of buying a “sure pass” PDF.

A week-by-week map if you want 14 March 2027

This is study pacing, not CSC policy.

  1. Week 1

    Before you file

    Logistics
Photos, I.D., Form 100 draft, ₱500, ask your RO/FO about remaining slots
    Study
    Diagnostic + weak-topic drills
  2. Week 2

Filing (open since 02 Nov 2026)

    Logistics
Secure your slot online, then appear with your complete kit
    Study
Keep daily minutes; do not pause review because you already filed
  3. Week 3

    After filing

    Logistics
Save receipt; wait for ONSA / RO notice. Transfer requests, if any, by 09 Dec 2026
    Study
Full or half mock when stamina is the leak
  4. Week 4

    Week before 14 Mar 2027

    Logistics
Print ONSA if you use it; pack from the sitting advisory
    Study
Light retrieval, sleep — not a new reviewer

If you are targeting 08 August 2027, wait for that sitting’s examination announcement. Application is set to open 10 May 2027.

What we will not invent

  • Live slot counts or kiosk hours, which CSC does not publish in its announcements
  • Room lists or gate times copied from 2026 as if they still apply
  • An 08 August 2027 fee, center list, or filing mode until CSC posts that sitting’s PDF
  • COMEX schedules mixed into this PPT guide

Honest facts

  • CSEPass is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a filing agent of the CSC.
  • We never invent unofficial CSC dates, fees, or room assignments.
  • Per-subtest item splits in our mocks are editorial estimates.
  • Readiness Score is a product metric — not a CSC rating prediction.
  • Completing drills here does not guarantee approval to sit or a passing general rating.

Next: confirm the calendar on the exam schedule guide, then sit the free diagnostic so 02 November is a filing date, not a first study date.

CSEPass is an independent review platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Philippine Civil Service Commission. Study advice here is not a pass guarantee and not a substitute for the current CSC announcement.

Turn the advice into a topic map

A free ~40-item diagnostic shows which CSE topics are actually leaking points — then you can drill those, not the chapters you already know.
